Security Market Leader & Builder — COO Growth, Strategy & Industry Leadership
About effortlo:
effortlo is the world's only marketplace built exclusively for security professionals. We give organizations effortless access to trusted, local, in-country security experts under one agreement and one payment — helping security teams operate faster, leaner, and with greater flexibility.
The model is already validated. Within six months of launch, effortlo was named an OSPA finalist at GSX, the world's largest international security conference. In 2024, effortlo advanced as a semi-finalist in the MN Cup, Minnesota's largest startup competition, selected from a field of over 3,200 companies. Revenue has grown more than 400% over the past year, with a customer base that includes Fortune-grade security teams.
Security leaders who've used the platform don't mince words:
This is the best model I've seen in the last 10 years.
I can't believe this didn't exist — it's a game changer.
With transparent pricing and direct access to experts, effortlo gives companies the ability to expand capabilities, meet critical deadlines, and stay within budget — while giving security professionals a way to showcase their skills and connect with organizations that need them.
This isn't an idea anymore. It's infrastructure the industry is already building around.
Responsibilities:
Help shape and grow effortlo's presence with enterprise customers and the broader security industry. This role blends direct sales relationships, strategic growth, and industry leverage to help effortlo become the standard for how organizations access security expertise.
Business Building & Strategy
- Identify where effortlo is moving too slow, and fix it before it becomes a problem
- Build the playbook for customer growth as the company scales
- Operate at leadership's altitude from day one; if you're waiting to be told what to do, this isn't the seat for you
- Build strategic plans for growth and operational efficiencies that align with the marketplace model
- Understand and map out personnel needs to support growth
- Champion a talent pipeline of known industry leaders - Build the bench before you need it; know who the next five hires are before we ask
- Take on other COO-level responsibilities as effortlo grows
Leadership Standard
- Set a bar for performance that others rise to meet, not one you spend your time managing down to
- Walk into a room with CSOs who've been in the industry for decades and be treated as a peer, because you carry yourself like one
- Make the hard call fast, then own what happens next; no hedging, no committee, no waiting to be told it's safe
- Hold people accountable, including leadership, without flinching and without needing to be asked twice
- Protect the standard (respect, high expectations) while still pushing harder than anyone else in the building
- Operate like the business is already yours, because if you're right for this, a piece of it will be.
Customer Growth & Relationships
- Own and grow direct relationships with enterprise customers
- Convert industry trust into new business and expanded engagements
- Sit across from customers and make the case for why speed and transparency matter — and back it up
- Work with existing customers to grow the relationship, using your security expertise to advise effortlo's forward strategy
- Maximize customer spend and value across the effortlo platform
- Leverage your close network to bring in new enterprise customers
Industry & Network Leverage
- Bring your existing CSO and senior security relationships to the table
- Represent effortlo across the industry — conferences, communities, and one-on-one relationships
- Help identify and recruit industry-validated experts into the ERC
The Executive Resource Council includes some of the most respected names in global security: former CSOs, ASIS presidents, and founders who've built and exited major security companies. You can see the team at effortlo.com/team
- Own the Executive Resource Council: maintain a regular meeting cadence and keep it running as the sounding board that gives customers real security support
- Grow the ERC with key industry players across multiple disciplines
- Serve as the point person for effortlo's global partners and experts, continuing to build and promote the effortlo model and brand
- Use AI tools and agents to increase efficiency without adding headcount
- Identify where manual processes can be automated
- Bring your own AI toolkit — we expect it
- Advise on tech tools and strategic platform upgrades, focused on automation, customer engagement, and streamlined expert support
Requirements
Requirements
- Proven senior-level relationships across the security industry - ideally including CSOs
- Track record of driving results, not just activity
- You've built enough of a reputation that people vouch for you before you walk in the room
- You've earned the right to be picky about what you do next - and you're choosing this
- Leads with AI, not around it
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent executive experience preferred
- Matched 401k Plan
- PTO - in accordance with company policy
- 12 Paid Holidays
- Opportunity to shape a new model in the global security industry
- Flexible, fast-moving environment with no corporate friction
