Security Engineer

Salary: $211,000 - 251,000 per year Requirements:

• Strong background in web application security, cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and networking fundamentals.
• Practical experience with production coding, scripting, and DevOps tooling for automation.
• Familiarity with secure coding, threat modeling, vulnerability scanning, and incident response workflows.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-moving startup setting and stay effective amid shifting priorities and ambiguity.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to explain risk trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
• A curiosity-driven, customer-focused approach and interest in solving problems from first principles.
• Preferred: experience securing AI systems, including LLM and agentic AI risks.
• Preferred: experience securing cloud infrastructure with strong policies, automated enforcement, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Preferred: experience building or integrating custom security tools, especially those using AI/ML for detection or monitoring.
• Preferred: familiarity with continuous compliance platforms and control monitoring.
• Preferred: experience applying secure-by-design and privacy-by-design practices, including data handling, anonymization, and de-identification.

• Own security across our platform, including application, cloud, network, and AI agent security.
• Perform secure design reviews, lead threat modeling, and help build new security primitives into our product and platform.
• Work closely with engineering, product, and GRC teams to integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Communicate risks clearly, prioritize remediation work, and make sure security requirements support innovation.
• Improve our security operations by embedding tools into CI/CD pipelines and using AI-based or next-generation solutions to automate scanning, compliance checks, and infrastructure reviews.
• Regularly assess our cloud environment, review IAM settings, and track emerging AI security risks.
• Recommend strategic security initiatives and help establish best practices as we scale.
• Present our security posture to enterprise customers and address questions around the protection of regulated data such as healthcare and financial information.
