Role Summary
The Security Engineer at Winixx is responsible for protecting our platforms, our users, and our data from threats — building security practices into the engineering culture and ensuring that compliance and security requirements are met as we scale. You will work across the engineering organization to identify vulnerabilities, implement controls, and respond to security incidents.
What You\'ll Do
- Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans across Winixx platforms
- Define and enforce secure coding standards and security review processes within the engineering team
- Implement and manage security controls across cloud infrastructure, application layer, and data storage
- Lead the response to security incidents including investigation, containment, and post-incident review
- Maintain compliance with relevant frameworks including PCI-DSS for payment processing and SOC 2
- Build and maintain secrets management, access control, and identity systems
- Educate engineering teams on security best practices through training, code review, and documentation
- Monitor threat intelligence feeds and proactively assess emerging risks to the Winixx platform
What We\'re Looking For
- 4+ years of security engineering or application security experience
- Strong understanding of web application security including OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities
- Experience with cloud security on AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Familiarity with PCI-DSS compliance requirements for payment processing platforms
- Proficiency with security tools including SAST, DAST, and vulnerability scanners
- Experience with identity and access management systems
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or equivalent for security tooling and automation
- Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent experience
