Security Director
STGi is seeking qualified candidates for this position in connection with an active Request for Proposals (RFP). Hiring for this role is contingent upon STGi's selection as the successful awardee. This is for a future opening.
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in security management or law enforcement, preferably in a healthcare or nursing home setting.
- Management and supervisory experience as a sworn law‑enforcement officer in a secure facility, including management experience at the level of Security Director or higher.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate security personnel.
- Strong knowledge of security principles, techniques, and best practices, including access control, surveillance, and emergency response.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in utilizing security systems, surveillance equipment, and computer applications.
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and decisive in high‑pressure situations and emergency scenarios.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, and other relevant emergency response training is desirable.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Management and supervisory experience as a sworn law‑enforcement officer in a secure facility, including supervisory experience at the level of Security Director.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Knowledge of regulations governing activity services in nursing care facilities.
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies.
- Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the ability to handle residents at various maturity levels.
- Willingness to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing activity services.
- Member in good standing in the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW).
- Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility and its premises.
- Is subject to frequent interruptions.
- Is involved with residents, family members, personnel, and visitors under all conditions and circumstances.
- Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary; on call 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
