Job Overview
The Security Architect is accountable for managing complex, critical, and large professional disciplinary areas, leading and directing a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact to achieve objectives. Applies in‑depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally at a senior level; some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area, exercises control over resources, policy formulation, and planning.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple architectural or functional teams.
- Evaluate subordinates’ performance and recommend personnel actions.
- Develop architectural strategy for a portfolio of IT systems.
- Recommend solutions that conform to enterprise standards.
- Create technological and business application portfolio roadmaps based on emerging technologies and market trends.
- Lead technical direction and decisions using expertise and market vision.
- Support business/client evaluation of technical benefits to stakeholders.
- Analyze and evaluate strategic technologies offered by vendors.
- Demonstrate understanding of architecture theories and practices across related areas.
- Integrate architecture within technology with commercial awareness.
- Share responsibility for budget, policy, and planning.
- Use evaluative judgment in complex situations, leveraging multiple information sources.
- Impact engineering through planning, finances, end results, and policy setting.
- Influence and negotiate with senior leaders and external parties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Assess risk in business decisions, uphold compliance, and supervise accountability.
Qualifications
- 10+ years relevant experience.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Strong management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to develop working relationships.
- Capacity to manage multiple activities, changing priorities, and tight deadlines.
- Self‑starter with initiative and quick learning.
- Proven experience in architecting security solutions for cloud migration projects (hybrid and multi‑cloud).
- Expertise in public cloud security services, architecture patterns, and native tooling.
- Experience securing container platforms (OpenShift, EKS, GKE) including image scanning, registry security, secure orchestration and runtime security.
- Experience in threat modelling and security architecture governance, including ARB participation.
Education
- Bachelor’s or equivalent experience.
Salary & Benefits
Primary location salary range: $141,440.00 – $212,160.00. In addition to salary, offers may include discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards. Benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage; 401(k); life, accident, and disability insurance; wellness programs; paid time off, vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays.
