Position TitleSecretaryDays - Full TimeWestwood Medical Pavilion - WestPosition Summary / Career Interest:The Secretary demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills; prepares reports, correspondence and departmental materials using a variety of office equipment and software programs; schedules appointments, answers department phones, and is responsible for maintaining office supplies, equipment and filing system.Responsibilities and Essential Job FunctionsAnswers department phones and provides appropriate information; transfers calls as needed and takes accurate messagesDistributes departmental mailElectronically arrives patients for appointments and prepares all patient information for clinicMaintains department filing system and office supplies/equipmentPrepares reports, correspondence and departmental materials using a variety of office equipment and software programs.Provides non-clinical support to patientsSchedules appointments and coordinates meeting arrangementsSchedules appointments for various patient procedures, including: precertification for various procedures and admissions; mailing information packages to new patients for completion prior to appointment; preparation of all patient informationMust be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.These statements are intended to describe the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
