Summary of position :
The School Counselor is responsible for organizing and administering school counseling services for BCIU Alternative Education Programs with the primary intent of assisting every student solve his/her problems while also promoting growth of the individual in self-direction.

Summary of position :
The School Counselor is responsible for organizing and administering school counseling services for BCIU Alternative Education Programs with the primary intent of assisting every student solve his/her problems while also promoting growth of the individual in self-direction.
Job Responsibilities (see attached job description for additional details):
- Counsel students on an individual basis at the elementary, middle school, and/or high school levels when referrals are made from administrators, teachers, parents, and/or community agencies.
- Counsel students on an individual basis at the assigned school levels in terms of academic, social, emotional, and vocational development.
- Conduct group counseling sessions as the need arises in the areas of personal, social, emotional, educational, and career development.
- Must hold a Master's Degree and be certified as a School Counselor.
- At least three years of experience in education or mental health counseling preferred.
- Must possess the personal qualifications for the development of desirable working relationships with people in the school and community.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills with youth and adults.
- Previous successful experience with children who demonstrate at risk' behaviors preferred.
Full-time, 10 months/year

- Bachelor = $52,919 to $81,690
- Bach+15 credits = $53,636 to $82,415
- Bach+24 credits = $54,427 to $83,215
- Masters = $64,370 to $93,955
- Mast+15 credits = $65,063 to $94,655
- Mast+30 credits = $65,755 to $95,355
- Mast+45 credits = $67,141 to $96,755
- Mast+60 credits = $68,377 to $98,005
