Scrum MasterLocation: Columbus, Ohio Hybrid-2 days onsite Duration: 6 months+ Visa: USC, GC, GC-EAD Interview: Phone/ZoomQualifications: They must be considered a Jira SME and have their PSM5+ years of technology project delivery experience and 2+ years of experience as a practicing Scrum Master with:Knowledge and demonstration of agile values, principles, and the Scrum frameworkExperience demonstrating and coaching others in the areas of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment, and transparencyKnowledge and application of Lean concepts and principlesKnowledge of forecasting team budget burn and project budget spendKnowledge of release planning and forecasting, aligning delivery expectations with all stakeholdersThe ability to apply a wide variety of patterns and techniques to enhance agile frameworks (for example: Burn down and burn up techniques, various Retrospective formats, team Daily Scrum patterns, etc.)Demonstrated commitment to personal continuous improvement, utilizing self-directed learning and other techniquesExcellent communication skills with experience engaging personnel at all levels of the organizationProfessional Scrum Master (PSM) certification from scrum.orgBachelor's Degree in Information Systems Management and/or Business AdministrationResponsibilities:A NiSource Scrum Master will:Guide the team and organization on how to use agile values, agile principles, and agile framework practices to delight customers and build a culture of trust, respect, simplicity, courage, transparency, and agilityGuide the team on self-organization to fill in the intentional gaps left in the agile frameworksStrive to form the team into one cohesive group where members succeed and fail togetherAssess the agile health of the team and organization and coach the team to higher levels of fluency at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organizationCreate and maintain a roadmap for team effectiveness while recognizing the readiness of the team for new team and technical practices and while helping the team adopt themConduct retrospectives on a regular cadence and execute on the outputs to help the team and organization improve by instilling a culture of continuous improvementBuild a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised and questions asked without fear of blame, retribution, or judgement with an emphasis on healing and problem solvingSupport and educate the Product Owner/Business Lead especially with respect to refining, ordering, and maintaining the product backlogProvide support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example with a focus on operating from personal responsibility and demonstrating the organization's culture conceptsEducate and coach on role expectations – Product Owner, Team Members, Customers, ManagersRemove impediments and guide the team to remove impediments to enable the team to progressEnsure the team is staffed and set up for success and escalate as neededFacilitate completion of tasks without coercing, assigning, or dictating the workFacilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolutionRadiate helpful information to the team and stakeholders outside the team including ensuring that the Visual Management Board and other information radiators are kept current, and can report progress of the team anytime, to anyoneFocus on results achieved instead of effort expendedCelebrate wins regularly with the team and stakeholdersPromote an environment of innovation and courage, where new ideas are explored and failures are treated as learning experiencesChallenge the status quo to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the team and organizationKnow and communicate team capacity, and ensure team forecasts are realistic and sustainableMaintain a consistent cadence to enable the team to experience flow and provide predictability to the organizationDemonstrate and uphold team working agreementsExhibit a forward-thinking, can-do attitude and an aptitude to embrace change and improve the processes of the team on a daily basisGuide and support the planning and coordination of deployments and releasesEnsure required artifacts are delivered and meet expectations
