Scrum Master / Agile LeadLocation: Houston, TX - must be able to travel 50-60% to the Houston office locationWe are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and dedicated Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Lead to join our squad. Your role as a Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Lead will be to give the team the best possible opportunity to succeed in a varied and often challenging environment. You have experience of enabling delivery using different agile approaches, tools and methodologies and will pragmatically apply them as required.Responsibilities:Coaching - Coach the on agile ways of working to help them become awesome.Continuous improvement - Use varying tools and techniques to identify and drive continuous improvement.Process - Responsible for the team’s process - ensuring agile approaches are adopted and maintained.Facilitation - Facilitate agile ceremonies and workshops to ensure effective outcomes are reached.Delivery ownership - Own your squads delivery plan and alongside the Service Owner be a dedicated point of contact for stakeholders to provide updates on progress.Roadblocks – remove roadblocks for the squad in support of consistent and timely delivery.Forecasting - Using appropriate metrics to forecast delivery plans and use this as a tool to communicate delivery expectations with key stakeholders.Budgeting - Manage squad resourcing requirements, timesheet submission and invoicing.Requirements:Significant experience working in agile teams delivering great products.The ability to coach teams and squad members to enhance their agility.A passion for continuous improvement.Experienced in a range of agile methodologies and practices, including Scrum, Kanban and Lean with an understanding of when to apply them.Well versed in capturing and analyzing data to forecast product delivery.Appreciates ‘what good looks like’ and able to make this a reality.Exceptional communication skills including motivating, emphasizing and influencing.An enabler - focused on driving change, removing impediments and putting the team first.Effective stakeholder management - ability to communicate effectively within large organizations.Nice to Have:Advanced use of delivery on Azure DevOps (ADO) tools and Azure Data EnvironmentsExperience with big data or data analytics squads/servicesRequired Skills : Candidate Profile: - Definitely not an Agile Coach role so don't send resumes that have Agile Coach experience. Too theoretical with their experience. - Values candidates that have "active listening" skills to help read between the lines in all the meetings they have to facilitate.
- Buzzwords: Sprint, Kanban, Backlog Grooming, Iterations, Capacity Planning, Velocity - Domain/Environment Size: Would love domain knowledge in the IT space or around Data projects if possible. Definitely needs Enterprise Environment experience though to understand working with multiple squads and all their interdependencies. Think Fortune 500 experience to start. - Certifications: Scrum Certifications (CSM, PSM, SSM) would stand out. PMP is a nice to have.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Would love to see a Computer Science/IT field of study, but not required. - Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience in a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead type position. The more Scrum Master experience the better. - Tactical Aspects of this Job: 100% needs experience with Azure DevOps.
