As part of our Medical Scribe program, you play a vital role in supporting physicians and health care providers while gaining first‑hand knowledge and practical experience in the field.

The Opportunity

• Firsthand exposure to a clinical setting for undergraduates or post‑baccalaureate students pursuing a career in healthcare.
• Great opportunity for students taking time off before medical, PA or NP school.
• Scribe hours are counted toward clinical training for most PA and medical school programs.
• Work one‑on‑one with physicians and other health care providers. Become proficient in medical terminology and gain an edge over peers without this experience.

• Connect with scribe alumni for mentorship.
• Completion of the scribe application test is required. If applying to more than one position, you need not retake the test unless seeking a better score.

Required Experience and Competencies

• Responsible and mature demeanor with a passion for medicine.
• Strong writing skills.
• Quick and accurate typing speed.
• Experience with medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology preferred.
• Work 2‑3 shifts per week, including weekends and a holiday.
• Ability to stand, walk and follow a physician for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a stressful, fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment of one continuous year; not a summer position.
• Excellent follow‑through.
• Self‑motivated.

The Practice

San Joaquin General Hospital – French Camp, California

• Level II Trauma Center with an annual ED volume of 60,000.
• 152‑bed facility with a 27‑bed Emergency Department.
• Very high acuity patients, 15% pediatric.
• Full complement of subspecialty backup and Vituity scribe support available.

The hourly rate for this role is $19.28 per hour.
