Crazy King Production is seeking a screenwriter for a narrative short film (approximately 15 minutes) currently in development.

Project Overview
It explores race, perception, institutional trust, and the systems that shape who receives the benefit of the doubt. The story follows two self‑defense cases in Sacramento County that appear unrelated until a journalist uncovers a hidden public‑safety system influencing how risk and credibility are perceived.
Seeking
- Strong short‑film writing experience
- Ability to balance social themes with compelling narrative
- Collaborative and open to development notes
Preferred
- Festival short film experience
- Screenwriting competition recognition
- Experience writing social thrillers, investigative dramas, or character‑focused stories
- Familiarity with Sacramento or Northern California communities is a plus
