Screen PrinterThe Screen Printer plays a key role in Interwest Safety Supply's production operations by setting up, operating, and maintaining screen printing equipment to produce signs, decals, and safety graphics that meet the company's quality and delivery standards. Working closely with the Sign Shop team, the Screen Printer's primary goal is to produce accurate, high-quality printed products efficiently while following all safety and production procedures.A secondary goal is to maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment and to support the broader sign shop team in meeting production schedules and customer deadlines.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Set up and operate manual and/or automatic screen-printing presses for production runs on signs, decals, and related productsPrepare screens, stencils, and squeegees, and mix and match inks to meet color specificationsLoad and register substrates (aluminum, vinyl, plastic, or other materials) to ensure accurate print alignmentInspect printed materials for quality, color accuracy, and registration; identify and correct defects during production runsClean screens, presses, and work areas between jobs and at the end of shifts, following proper chemical handling proceduresPerform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues; report equipment malfunctions to a supervisorProduction & Quality Support:Maintain accurate production counts and complete required production paperwork or system entriesSafely handle and store inks, solvents, and other production chemicals in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and company policyPackage, label, and stage finished products for shipping or further processingCollaborate with other sign shop staff to meet production schedules and deadlinesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA standardsRequirements:Qualifications Education & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrior screen printing, sign shop, or production/manufacturing experience preferred but not required; on-the-job training providedKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production equipment safelyAbility to read and follow work orders, job tickets, and basic measurementsStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentReliable attendance and ability to work overtime, different shifts, or weekends as neededHigh level of integrity and work ethicCore Competencies:Attention to detailQuality workmanshipMechanical aptitudeTime managementSafety awarenessTeam collaborationProblem-solvingPhysical Demands:While primarily a production role, the Screen Printer position may require:Ability to stand for extended periods, up to a full shiftAbility to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift heavier materials with assistanceFrequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand and arm motionsAbility to work with and around production chemicals, inks, and solvents, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)Manual dexterity for handling screens, tools, and small partsWork Environment:Primarily a sign shop/production facility setting with exposure to noise, fumes, inks, and chemical odorsUse of PPE such as gloves, eye protection, and, when applicable, respiratory protection is requiredMay include occasional overtime, weekends, or shift adjustments to meet production demands
