Computer Network ArchitectMAG Aerospace is seeking to hire a Computer Network Architect to support operations supporting the SOCOM SOCRATES networks at SOCOM HQ at MacDill AFB in Tampa Florida. A Computer Network Architect (Journeyman) is responsible for providing network engineering expertise for Integrated Systems Networks (ISN) by maintaining and operating the components needed for enterprise connectivity, functionality, and security that enable business and mission systems. This role ensures reliable, compliant, and high-performance connectivity across cloud, corporate, and secure environments.Duties include, but are not limited to:Core Technical SkillsRouting & Switching: Solid understanding of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, hot and cold sites, Cloud, and on prem network infrastructure characteristics, drawbacks, and benefits.Deep Troubleshooting: Moving beyond simple fixes to methodical troubleshootingChasing VLANs, finding persistent MACsIdentifying issues with routing protocolsUnderstanding and troubleshooting application issues that may or may not be caused by network failure.Infrastructure SkillsL2 Ethernet: VXLAN, OTV, Spanning tree, and understanding the basic fundamentals of switching and aggregationL3 routing: Knowledge of IBGP, EBGP, EIGRP, RIP, and OSPFWorking experience with service provider routersWorking knowledge of IKE, IKEv2, IPSEC and MACSEC.Security & Cloud: Knowledge of firewalls, security appliances, VPNs, and integration with cloud connectivity.Understanding of CSFC and the differentiation between the connectivity packagesAutomation: Basic Python scripting and Ansible to automate routine tasks.Operational & Soft SkillsAnalytical thinking and problem solvingStrong, effective communication and proficiency with documentationTeam collaborationAdaptability and continuous learningCustomer service orientedTime management and prioritizationAbility to function as part of a teamAbility to articulate and document steps that have been taken to resolve or troubleshoot enterprise network issuesRequirementsExperience: 4-8+ years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud networkingExperience designing and operating enterprise network architectures across hybrid environmentsHands-on experience with cloud networkingExperience supporting geographically distributed organizations with multiple sites and remote usersExperience working in regulated environmentsTechnical Skills: Experience with Network technologies: routing, switching, VPN, SD-WAN, firewall configurationExperience with Cloud networking: Azure virtual networks, ExpressRoute, private endpointsExperience with Security: Zero Trust architecture, segmentation, encryption standardsExperience with Monitoring and troubleshooting tools for network performance and availabilityPreferred Qualifications: Experience supporting SCIF or secure facility network environmentsFamiliarity with CSfC and Type One encryption methodsAttained industry recognized certifications such as CCNP, CCNA or some subset of those certifications (Cisco routing and switching, for example).Security & Compliance Requirements: U.S. Citizenship requiredTS/SCI ClearanceTravel Requirements: CONUS/OCONUS up to 25%Company PolicyMAG Aerospace (MAG) is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and is committed to Diversity and Inclusion.

The projected compensation range for this position is $120,000.00 to $150,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
