Role Description
The Scientific Co-Founder will play a key leadership role in shaping CROaccess\'s scientific strategy, product vision, and market positioning. This full-time hybrid role is based in the Greater St. Louis area, with flexibility for partial work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating scientific needs of biotech clients, mapping those needs to suitable CRO capabilities, and contributing to platform features that improve matching accuracy and workflow efficiency. The person in this role will collaborate with technical and business teams to refine service offerings, support scientific content and thought leadership, and develop processes for vetting CROs and assessing quality. Additional responsibilities may include participating in sales and partnership discussions, representing CROaccess at industry events, and helping to guide long-term growth and fundraising activities.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and research abilities to evaluate biotech programs, CRO capabilities, and market trends.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience or aptitude in sales and marketing to support client acquisition, CRO onboarding, and platform growth.
- Background in biotechnology, pharmacology, or related life sciences; advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working with or within CROs, biotechs, or clinical development organizations is highly beneficial.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a startup environment, make decisions under uncertainty, and take ownership of outcomes.
- Collaborative working style, with the maturity to function as a co-founder, align with other leaders, and help build a diverse and inclusive team.
- Comfort with hybrid work in the Greater St. Louis area, including in-person strategy sessions and external meetings as needed.
