As a School-Based Science Teacher in Washington, DC, you will:
- Deliver engaging science instruction aligned with district and state standards across one or more scientific disciplines.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that encourage inquiry, critical thinking, and hands-on learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student achievement and scientific curiosity.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and use data to guide instruction.
- Collaborate with fellow educators, administrators, families, and support staff to promote student success.
- Maintain accurate student records and comply with district policies and educational regulations.
- Foster students' understanding of scientific concepts while preparing them for academic and real-world success.
- Position: Contract (Option to Renew)
- Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday
- Location: Washington, DC
- Grade Level: Elementary, Middle, or High School opportunities available
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education, Science, or a related field
- Experience teaching science in a school setting preferred
- Strong classroom management, instructional planning, and communication skills
- Ability to create engaging, standards-based science lessons
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
