Step into an exciting opportunity as a General Education Science Teacher serving high school students for the academic year beginning in early August 2026 and continuing through late May 2027. This full-time, contract position offers a significant chance to inspire young minds in a vibrant educational environment near Kenner, Louisiana.
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping students' understanding of scientific concepts, fostering curiosity and a passion for the sciences. The assignment is Monday through Friday, following the school calendar, with a consistent 7-hour workday (plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch). The specific campus assignments and caseload will be finalized prior to placement, but rest assured, the focus will be on supporting high school learners.
Qualifications & Credentials:
- Current and valid Louisiana Department of Education Certification for General Education Science (Temporary Authority to Teach certifications are not accepted)
- Proven readiness to begin teaching immediately; only fully licensed candidates are considered
- Experience teaching high school Science preferred
- Commitment to completing district and agency credentialing, including a drug screening and fingerprint clearance
- Deliver engaging, standards-based science instruction to high school students
- Design and implement effective lesson plans, adapting for student needs and abilities
- Create a supportive and challenging classroom environment
- Collaborate with fellow educators, administration, and support staff
- Monitor student progress, provide meaningful feedback, and report outcomes as required
