Maxim Healthcare is proud to partner with the Harvard School District in our search for compassionate and reliable Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide one-on-one care for students during their transportation to and from school.

This rewarding role allows you to combine your nursing expertise with a predictable schedule while helping students safely access their education each day. You'll provide individualized support during transportation and play an important part in ensuring a safe and comfortable ride for medically fragile students.

This opportunity resumes for the Fall 2026 school year.

What You'll Do

As a School Transport Nurse, you will:

n
• n

  Provide skilled nursing support during student transportation

  n
n
• n

  Monitor students with complex medical needs

  n
n
• n

  Administer care related to tracheostomies, G-tubes, seizure disorders, diabetes, and other medical conditions as needed

  n
n
• n

  Respond appropriately to changes in condition according to established care plans

  n
n
• n

  Communicate effectively with families, transportation teams, school staff, and clinical supervisors

  n
n
• n

  Ensure student comfort, safety, and well-being throughout each route

  n
n
• n

  Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with care protocols

  n
n

Qualifications

n
• n

  Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License

  n
n
• n

  Current BLS Certification

  n
n
• n

  Current Health Certificate (per state regulations)

  n
n
• n

  Current PPD or Chest X-Ray

  n
n
• n

  One year of RN experience preferred

  n
n
• n

  Experience with trach care, enteral feeding, seizure management, or pediatric nursing is a plus

  n
n
• n

  Ability to follow detailed care plans and communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff

  n
n
