Job Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state
• Direct-hire candidates must apply for Alaska RN licensure before the start date
• 3 years of professional clinical instructor experience required
• 5 years of professional nursing experience required, including at least 2 years as a staff RN in a specialty area such as ER, ICU, OB, or OR
• 2 years of supervisory experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• TNCC instructor certification preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required; nursing school graduate required
• Strong communication, collaboration, presentation, and adult learning skills
• Prior emergency nursing, trauma education, or remote rural healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Design, teach, and evaluate clinical education and training programs for nursing staff
• Support ongoing competency development and maintain required certifications across the consortium
• Coordinate and provide resources for ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and related nursing education programs
• Oversee trauma registrar functions and support trauma program compliance and designation readiness
• Collaborate with site leaders, department managers, and performance improvement teams to identify educational needs
• Develop and facilitate evidence-based learning opportunities for professional and non-professional staff
• Support audits, action plans, and quality improvement efforts related to clinical education
• Guide staff development, mentorship, and ongoing professional growth
• Maintain current knowledge of regulations, standards, and policies relevant to clinical education and trauma programming
• Foster a positive, team-oriented learning environment that promotes safe, effective, high-quality patient care
