School District #6 is located in the Rogue River Valley of Southern Oregon. The district is undergoing restructuring to improve its already strong program. POSITION: School Psychologist - Multiple Positions Available
BUILDING: District-Wide
POSITION START DATE: August, 2026

COMPENSATION and BENEFITS:

  • $64,788.44 - $103,462.99, depending on approved experience ; TBD)
  • MA degree stipend added to annual salary
  • Annual COLA pay increase (as negotiated with Oregon Education Association)
  • Annual step pay increase for eligible employees
  • 6 paid holidays annually

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Provide assessment, consultation and behavior intervention strategies for students enrolled in or referred to special education programs; collaborate with general and special education staff and parents to identify strategies, methods and patterns of instructional support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience with Special Education leadership
  2. Ability to communicate effectively
  3. Willing to represent the District at IEP meetings
  4. Familiarity with Special Ed assessments
  5. Background in RTI and/or MTSS
  6. Experience with early childhood/elementary preferred
  7. Oregon School Psychologist License

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

School Psychologist – Purpose: Performs a variety of direct and indirect services to ensure a free appropriate public education for students with disabilities. Works with students, staff and administrators to meet district educational goals.

Reports to: Principal

Nature of Work / Essential Functions: Provides services as outlined below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable a person with disabilities to perform essential duties.

  • Administer criterion-referenced tests for daily tracking or programming
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments; develop and implement behavior intervention plans
  • Conduct evaluations and analyze data; participate in eligibility decisions
  • Design and implement educational programs meeting state and federal requirements
  • Design and implement behavioral and disciplinary programs
  • Schedule, coordinate and monitor student programs
  • Develop self-help routines for students as needed
  • Collect data for IEP goals; consult with staff and parents on methods and materials
  • Educate staff on referrals process and IEP requirements
  • Maintain records and meet established timelines
  • Communicate with parents; collaborate with administrators and teams
  • Teach classes per district curriculum; assess and grade
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Develop working relationships with supervisor, staff and the public

Required Qualifications / Experience

  • Current TSPC Licensure
  • Knowledge of Oregon Teacher Standards of Competent and Ethical Performance
  • Experience mentoring or coaching desirable
  • Extensive experience with diverse students, including cognitive impairments
  • Knowledge of PBIS and RTI
  • Experience with various managerial and instructional methodologies
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Understanding of current education theory and practice
  • Ability to work with students and parents in challenging situations
  • Strong communication and analytical abilities
  • Mental agility and ability to meet deadlines

  • Sensory abilities for observing students
  • Physical requirements including lifting and movement as described

Working Conditions :

  • Physically active role; duties inside and outside, with possible inclement weather
  • Noise can be normal to high
  • Potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids; necessary precautions followed

  • Hazards: occasional use of cleaning agents; exposure to various environmental factors
  • Exposure to bees, pollen and head lice may occur
