Qualifications:

• CT Certification, Endorsement Code 070
• Uses a variety of culturally sensitive techniques and assessments to evaluate student academic skills, cognitive skills, social and emotional development, and behavioral adjustment
• Facilitates the evaluation/re-evaluation process for special education eligibility
• Participates in student assistance teams and IEP team meetings by sharing expertise in assessment, social-emotional development, behavioral management, and instructional programming
• Collaborates with staff in order to develop appropriate strategies to facilitate appropriate behaviors for classroom and school adjustment for individual students
• Collaborates with staff in order to develop appropriate learning strategies for individual students in order to improve academic functioning
• Works directly with students in individual and group settings
• Meets appropriate deadline(s) related to responsibilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and teaching colleagues
• Must be flexible, creative, demonstrate strong organizational skills
• Must be highly motivated and self-directed
