School Psychologist (School-Based) – Multiple Locations (Texas, Colorado, Arizona)

Schedule: Full-Time | School Hours | Contract. Setting: K-12 School Campuses (varies by district).

Support Student Success—Academically, Socially, and Emotionally. We’re hiring School Psychologists (also known as LSSPs in Texas) for school‑based opportunities across multiple locations. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about helping students succeed through high‑quality evaluations, counseling support, and collaborative campus‑based intervention planning.

Assignment Types

  • Campus‑Based / Full‑Scope (evaluations + ARD/IEP participation + counseling support)
  • Evaluation‑Only (testing + report writing only)
  • Counseling‑Only (counseling minutes/services only)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological evaluations to identify learning/behavioral needs.
  • Write evaluation reports and document findings clearly.
  • Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and support eligibility decisions.
  • Provide individual and/or group counseling services as assigned.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families.
  • Support a positive school climate and student mental wellness.
  • Provide case‑management support when applicable.

Minimum Qualifications (Core Requirements)

  • Specialist‑level degree (Ed.S.) or Doctorate (Psy.D./Ph.D.) in School Psychology (typically 60+ graduate hours).
  • Completion of a 1,200‑hour supervised internship (minimum 600 hours in a school setting).
  • Praxis School Psychologist exam (Code 5403).
  • NCSP welcomed (often supports faster state licensure pathways).

State Credential Requirements (Varies by Location)

  • Arizona (AZ): School Psychologist, PreK‑12; issued by the AZ Dept. of Education. Requires an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and 1,200 hours of internship.
  • Colorado (CO): Special Services Provider (SSP); requires an SSP license from the CDE and a Praxis 5402/5403. Candidates must hold an Ed.S. or higher.
  • Texas (TX): LSSP (Licensed Specialist in School Psychology); unique to Texas; issued by the TX Behavioral Health Executive Council. Requires a 1,200‑hour internship and a state‑specific Jurisprudence Exam. TX LSSPs can also call themselves school psychologists.
