As a dedicated school psychologist, you’ll play a crucial role in fostering the well-being and academic success of students by providing comprehensive psychological services within a collaborative educational setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist certification or license (in Michigan or eligible for reciprocity)
- Master’s or doctoral degree in School Psychology or closely related field
- Experience with psychological testing, assessments, and IEP development
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulations for special education
- Excellent communication and rapport-building skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to work well independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to ethical practice and maintaining confidentiality
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and interpret findings
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and parents to develop tailored interventions
- Participate in IEP meetings, provide input for eligibility decisions, and help monitor progress
- Offer crisis intervention and counseling for students as needed
- Contribute to the development of positive behavioral support plans and school-wide mental health initiatives
- Provide consultative support to teachers regarding classroom strategies and accommodations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with district and state requirements
