School Nurse - Substitute

Summary:
Hours are 7:45 am - 3:15 pm ~ Student contact Days
Pay Scale:
Non Licensed: $15/hr.
Current LPN licensed nurse: $25/hr.
Current RN licensed nurse: $35/hr.
The School Nurse - Substitute will be responsible for providing nursing services and care to students in the absence of the regular school nurse. The position is located at District Wide and is a substitute job.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff members as needed
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and maintain student health records
- Communicate with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student health concerns
- Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with chronic health conditions
- Assist in the development and implementation of health education programs for students and staff members
- Participate in school health screenings and immunization programs
- Maintain a clean and organized health clinic
Requirements:
- Valid nursing license in the state of Minnesota preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience working with children and adolescents preferred
- Knowledge of common childhood illnesses and injuries
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in emergency situations
- Flexibility to work on short notice and at various locations within the district.
