Job Title
Assists children and parents in safely crossing streets on the way to and from school in the morning and afternoon.
Essential Functions
- Holds stop sign, stopping motorists so children and parents may cross streets.
- Warns children not to cross until the proper time.
- Guides children and parents across the street.
- Maintains positive relationships with students, parents and school staff; models appropriate adult behavior.
- Reports reckless drivers to police department.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- Ability to stand and walk for extended amount of time.
- Ability to elevate and hold stop sign.
- Ability to identify and use appropriate traffic warning signals.
- Ability to drive a vehicle to and from various worksites.
- Exposed to variable and possibly extreme weather conditions while on duty.
