nUnder the general supervision of School Resources Officer Lieutenant, provides supervision of pedestrian control at assigned post to ensure reasonable and orderly flow of pedestrian traffic and safety to the public.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Directs pedestrians at the assigned street or highway location and provides smooth traffic flow.
- Reports violations of traffic laws.
- Promotes positive public relations between the Sheriff’s Office and the community.
- Reports to duty at designated times. Times may vary according to post location.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision. n
nQUALIFICATIONS:
A. Training and Experience
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent. n
- Knowledge and/or ability to learn basic traffic laws.
- Knowledge and/or ability to safety procedures.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Skills in dealing effectively and courteously with students, coworkers, supervisors, deputies and the public. n
- Ability to communicate verbally.
- Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction).
- Acceptable hearing (with or without correction).
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to respond quickly if needed. n
