Position Details :
Title: School Counselor
Location: Manor, TX 78653
Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
Position Type: Contract
Salary:$45 - $45/hour
Assignment Details
Start Date: October 8, 2026
End Date: May 28, 2027
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Grades: elementary, middle, or high school
Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling services.
Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with district and Texas state guidelines.
Support students with academic planning and achievement, social and emotional development, behavior management, and college and career readiness.
Assist with course selection and graduation planning.
Participate in ARD meetings and support students receiving special education services.
Provide crisis intervention and mental health support.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, school psychologists, and community agencies.
Deliver classroom guidance lessons and student workshops.
Maintain accurate counseling documentation and student records.
Promote a positive school climate while ensuring compliance with TEA and district policies.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
Valid Texas School Counselor Certification.
Knowledge of student development, counseling strategies, and Texas education laws.
Ability to effectively support students from diverse backgrounds.
Previous experience as a K-12 School Counselor is preferred.
Elementary school counseling experience is strongly preferred.
Experience with mental health and behavioral interventions.
Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
