Bring your expertise in behavioral intervention to a dynamic contract opportunity supporting students across multiple school sites. As a Behavior Intervention Specialist, you'll be key in collaborating with another BIS and a Special Education Administrator, impacting the academic and social success of students through evidence-based interventions and positive behavior supports.
Key Qualifications:

  • Must hold BCBA certification or be a licensed Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4 license required for SpEd Teacher applicants)
  • Previous experience in behavioral intervention, conducting functional behavior assessments, and supporting positive student behavior in school settings
  • RBT certification does not qualify for this position
  • Flexible and adaptive approach in working across 3-4 school sites (specific assignments may vary)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
Role Responsibilities:
  • Consult and collaborate with school teams to develop, implement, and monitor effective positive behavior interventions
  • Support development and delivery of individualized education plans, ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
  • Provide ongoing staff training and coaching in behavioral strategies and recommendations
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments, collecting and interpreting data to influence programming decisions
  • Employ de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques, maintaining safety for all students and the school environment
  • Ensure alignment with district policies, as outlined in school board guidelines and handbooks
  • Contribute to maintaining a supportive, positive environment for staff and students alike
