Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) - School-Based Opportunity

Position Overview

Amergis is seeking experienced Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) for a full-time, school-based opportunity supporting students with intensive behavioral needs. This position requires a flexible, team-oriented professional who is comfortable working as a floater across multiple school sites and collaborating with educators, special education staff, and behavioral specialists to help students achieve their academic and behavioral goals.

Important Requirement: Candidates must hold an active RBT credential and have a minimum of one year of experience working under their current licensure/certification.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement behavior intervention plans under appropriate supervision.

• Support students with behavioral, social, and educational goals throughout the school day.

• Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and behavioral professionals.

• Collect and document behavioral data as required.

• Assist students in developing communication, social, and adaptive skills.

• Maintain a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment.

• Adapt to different school settings and student populations as needed.

Position Details

• Setting: School-Based Behavioral Support

• Schedule: Monday through Friday

• Hours: 37.5 hours per week

• Duration: Through the end of the school year

• Assignment Type: Full-time Floater Position

• Location: Multiple school sites within the district

• Dress Code: Professional/Business Casual

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification

• Minimum one year of experience under current licensure/certification

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Ability to work effectively with students who have intensive behavioral needs

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work across multiple school locations as needed

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Current CPR certification if applicable

• TB screening, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of pediatric or school-based experience

• Experience supporting students with significant behavioral or special education needs

• Completion of the RBT initial training course and demonstrated field experience
