Make an impact supporting student success as a Speech Language Pathologist in a specialized contract position. You'll work onsite at a high school, focusing your expertise on direct and indirect AT (Augmentative and Alternative Communication Technology) support for a single student with unique needs requiring eye gaze technology. This role offers a part-time, 2-hours-per-week schedule, allowing you to dedicate your advanced skills toward meaningful, individualized progress.
Your main focus will be providing hands-on intervention and collaboration with the student's educational team around the use of an Accent device, including programming, calibration, and device maintenance. You'll be a trusted partner, ensuring the student's technology access remains seamless and truly supports their educational participation.
What You'll Bring:
- Current Speech Language Pathologist license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA, or eligibility with logged hours.
- Demonstrated expertise in assistive technology, specifically eye gaze systems and Accent device management.
- Previous experience supporting high school-aged students.
- Strong team communication skills, especially related to training and supporting instructional staff.
- Availability to provide direct in-person services as required.
- Direct and indirect AT support for one student at the high school campus.
- Programming, calibration, and ongoing maintenance of the Accent device.
- Collaboration with educators, therapists, and families to ensure full integration of technology supports.
- Documentation of sessions and progress reports as needed.
