Working under the guidance of the Special Education Department, classroom teachers, and designated supervisors, the School Aide plays a vital role in helping students achieve academic, social, and developmental success.

Provide instructional and behavioral support to students in classroom and school environments.

Assist students in achieving individualized educational and behavioral goals.

Support classroom teachers and special education staff with daily activities and student engagement.

Help students with personal care, physical mobility, and therapeutic needs as directed by healthcare professionals and educational plans.

Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Assist with supervision during classroom activities, transitions, meals, and other school-related functions.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school policies, procedures, and professional standards.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum age of 18 years.

Ability to work effectively with students, educators, families, and support staff.

Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.

Required Credentials

Current CPR certification (if required by assignment).

TB screening, PPD, or chest X-ray documentation (if applicable).

Current health certificate, as required by state regulations or contract.
