Job PostingUnder the direction of the Kalamazoo Sr Manager – Planning and Inventory, manages standards and continuous improvement projects related to Scheduler work. Develops strategic direction and direct leadership for site Detail Schedulers not limited to: KPI development, standards creation, and reporting.Position ResponsibilitiesDirectly oversees site Detail Schedulers and scheduling process for Kalamazoo site; develops standards and tools to improve site scheduling processOwns their own capacity balancing of equipment and staffing against the monthly Production Plan to create an executable daily and weekly production scheduleResponsible for the entire life cycle of the process order that includes the creation of lots, batch determination of materials, material staging, order writing, and reconciliationCollaborates with Value Stream Leads to develop performance improvement plansEnsures accurate and timely reporting on material usage variances, production issues, and attainmentEstablishes and publishes relevant metrics that accurately reflect site scheduling results and identify focus areas for improvement. Optimize the generation of metric reporting, utilizing the system to efficiently plan and to optimize planning operations and manufacturing execution.Other duties, as assignedTechnical Skills RequirementsStrong knowledge and extensive practical experience of supply chain concepts, including but not limited to production scheduling, finished good tracking, and cycle countingStrong knowledge and extensive experience in developing process standards and reporting tools for tracking KPIsStrong experience in SAP, previous scheduling/planning experience a MUSTEducation and ExperienceBA/BS in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Management or related discipline and minimum of 5 years related experienceDemonstrated indirect leadership skills to influence othersStrong knowledge of production, GMP's, inventory management and planning systemsPrevious experience managing scheduling process and conducting analysis using SAPDemonstrated ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to all levels of the organizationAbility to make timely decisions when data is incomplete or conflictingAbility to understand and use Lean & RFT concepts and applications to resolve problems and improve our processesPreferred: Certified leadership skills in Production and Inventory Management (APICS, CPIM)Proficient in Microsoft Office SuitePhysical RequirementsThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a colleague encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
