This role supports production operations by ensuring materials are prepared safely, efficiently, and in alignment with quality standards and production schedules.Machine Operation & ProductionSet up and operate saws (e.g., band saws, cold saws, circular saws) to cut materials according to work orders and specificationsDeburr parts to smooth edges and ensure safe, quality finishesMeasure, mark, and verify materials to ensure accurate cuts and minimal wasteAdjust machine settings (speed, feed, blade selection) based on material type and thicknessMaintain adherence to production schedules and throughput targetsQuality & InspectionInspect cut materials for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specificationsUse measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, squares) to verify dimensionsIdentify and report defects, inconsistencies, or equipment issuesSafety & ComplianceFollow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPEMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standardsReport unsafe conditions, near misses, and safety concerns promptlyMaintenance & Equipment CarePerform routine maintenance on saws, including blade changes and lubricationMonitor equipment performance and report maintenance needsEnsure proper storage and handling of materials and toolsMaterial Handling & CollaborationLoad and unload raw materials using appropriate equipment (forklift or crane, if certified)Coordinate with fabrication, machining, and production teams to ensure workflow alignmentAssist with inventory tracking and material identificationNote: This list of responsibilities is by no means inclusive; however, it is intended to be a guideline for activities.1–3 years of experience operating saws or similar manufacturing equipment preferredExperience in metal fabrication or manufacturing environments is a plusAbility to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and measurementsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityBasic math and measurement skillsMechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issuesStrong safety awarenessDisclaimer: JR Automation requires candidates to successfully complete a 10-panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check.At JR Automation, A Hitachi Group Company, we discover potential, reimagine limits, and advance industry.
