Saw Operator / Material Handler - 2nd ShiftThis role combines saw operation and material handling in a clean, organized, and climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You will spend approximately half of your time operating a saw to cut material and the other half using a sit-down forklift to move in-process material between workstations. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity in manufacturing for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning new skills, and following clear safety and documentation processes.ResponsibilitiesOperate a saw to cut material according to specified measurements and production requirements.Spend approximately 50% of the time operating the saw and 50% of the time handling material within the facility.Use a sit-down forklift to move in-process material safely around the shop to various stations.Handle, stage, and organize materials to support continuous production flow.Read and interpret basic prints to understand cutting and material handling requirements.Use basic inspection tools and a tape measure to verify dimensions and quality of cut material.Follow proper safety procedures at all times while operating machinery and forklifts.Complete required documentation accurately throughout the production and material handling process.Support general labor and production tasks as needed to meet team and production goals.Collaborate with team members and trainers to ensure efficient and safe operations.Essential SkillsExperience with material handling in a production or warehouse environment.Proficiency in operating a sit-down forklift to move materials safely.Basic knowledge of manufacturing or machine operating processes.General labor or production experience in an industrial setting.Ability to use a tape measure to take accurate measurements.Willingness to follow safety procedures and documentation requirements.Ability to read and follow basic instructions and production guidelines.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a newer, climate-controlled building that provides a comfortable and stable work environment. The facility is very clean, organized, and designed to support efficient production and material flow. You will work with saws, forklifts, and basic inspection tools in a structured manufacturing setting. Strong teams and experienced trainers are present to provide guidance and support, helping you build skills and confidence on the job.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar, MN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
