Central Steel & Wire offers a dynamic, quality-focused, environment, ideal for advancing your career and making your mark in the metals industry.As a Saw Operator with Central Steel & Wire, you will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and quality when cutting material in accordance with technical drawings and specifications. This position is a 2nd shift role. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 3pm to 11:30pm.Roles and ResponsibilitiesOperating saw equipment to cut materials to specified dimensions with accuracy and precisionInspecting cut pieces to ensure they meet quality standards and specificationsPerform routine maintenance on the saw equipment to ensure optimal performanceTroubleshoot any issues with equipment to minimize downtime and maintain efficiencyAdhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and othersPicking and staging feedstock for fulfillment ordersBreaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific ordersPackaging of material to customer requirementsOperating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as neededProper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computerMaximum productivity for finished goods creationAll other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without noticeRequirementsSuccessfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skillsMinimum 2 years of similar job experience preferredRegular attendanceBasic math skillsBasic computer skills and/or comfort using a computerPhysical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobilitySuccessful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding and new hire training.Salary: $25.32 - $28.72 per hour.
