Saw Operator (1st Shift)Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Pay: $16 to $20 per hour - based on experiencePosition Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Saw Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for operating saw machinery, performing maintenance, and ensuring quality control of materials and parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.Select and install blades on machines using hand tools.Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or fixtures to secure and direct workpieces.Set controls to adjust speed, feed rate, and blade tensions.Position workpieces against stops or align layout marks with dies or blades.Monitor machine operation to detect workpiece defects or malfunctions.Measure workpiece dimensions to ensure accuracy of machine operation.Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpieces.Ensure completeness of parts per print before advancing to the next stage of production.Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.Load/unload steel trucks and verify material accuracy against orders.Maintain a clean work area, returning equipment and tools daily.Keep an accurate inventory of steel materials.Competencies:Proficiency in required job skills and knowledge.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.Consistent and reliable attendance.Physical Demands:Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms, and communicate effectively.Frequently required to walk and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Work Environment:Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.If you are a hardworking and safety-conscious individual ready to contribute to a dynamic team, apply today!
