Saugus High School 1:1 Paraprofessional

Statement of Duties: • Assists in the teaching process and works directly with child under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher or Special Needs teacher in class support. • Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the teacher, principal, Executive Director of Pupil Personnel Services, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Saugus School Committee. Provides 1:1 assistance to support academics, social emotional learning and social pragmatics within a school setting. Is responsible for monitoring and maintaining individualized behavior supports. Qualifications: • Prefer prior experience with children in a school or similar setting. • Meets criteria for paraprofessionals as established by MA DESE (DOE) Standards; minimum of Associates Degree Or 48 credit equivalent or Highly Qualified according to District standards • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable. * Safety care certified or equivalent preferred Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority:Works under supervision of teachers who are responsible to the Building Principal and the Director of Pupil Personnel Services
