FTS has an opportunity for a Satellite Vehicle Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA. The Satellite Vehicle Systems Engineer will primarily support the design, development, manufacturing, assembly, and integration and test activities for one of the major satellite programs.ResponsibilitiesAssist in overseeing the design, manufacturing, and test activities for satellite bus, communication and mission payloadsAssist in overseeing the assembly, integration, and test of the satelliteAssist the GPOC managing and evaluating contractor PDRs, CDRs, and MRRsReview/monitor enterprise, system, subsystem and assembly-level test and verification/validation planning and executionAttend enterprise system, subsystem and segment level design reviews and program management reviews to assess design maturity, requirements compliance and to provide informed technical recommendations to the GPOCReview test plans/procedures and test results and test reports for completeness and accuracy, including compliance to approved plans, and provide feedback to the GPOCSupport the customer in the oversight of subsystem hardware development, integration, and test activities at the Prime/subcontractor and associated vendor facilitiesProactively identify and assess emerging technical and programmatic risks at the enterprise, system, subsystem level and then work with the Government enterprise Prime/Subcontractor to develop and evaluate mitigation approachesDevelop productive relationships with Prime/Subcontractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other subject matter expertsTrack development issues, significant accomplishments and upcoming events and provide weekly status updates, oral and in writing (email) to the customerRequired Skills/QualificationsTS/SCI with polygraphBS STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) in engineering discipline10+ years' relevant experienceExcellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environmentFTS International, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer - vets/disabled.
