Description
SAIC has an immediate opening for a Networking Engineer with skills in SATCOM or RF.  In this role you will support mission-focused operations by applying expertise in RF communications, IP networking, and information security to configure, troubleshoot, and secure satellite and ground-segment systems. The role involves performing vulnerability assessments, maintaining configuration records, developing technical and program management documentation, and ensuring end?to?end system readiness while collaborating closely with government and commercial stakeholders. Candidates benefit from knowledge of RF instrumentation, environmental testing, and industry certifications in networking or security.
Qualifications
Must currently hold a TS/SCI and Poly in order to be considered for this positionExperience with RF communicationBasic understanding of network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet, MPLS)Basic understanding of information security principles (e.g. confidentiality, integrity, availability, risk management)Ability to perform security assessments (e.g. vulnerability scans, risk analysis) on ground segment software and network devicesKnowledge of IP networking, routing, and switching concepts, QoS, and network monitoringAbility to configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and satellite modem equipmentExperience providing end-to-end systems engineering support for operational equipmentExperience developing and implementing program management plans, equipment test plans, operational readiness plans and technical requirementsAbility to maintain accurate configuration management records and traceability matricesExperience collaborating with diverse stakeholders across government and commercial sectorsEducational background in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field10+ years of experience with a degree. 15+ years of experience without a degreeDesired Qualifications:Professional experience or completion of academic coursework in satellite communications, RF design, or information securityExperience with RF instrumentation (e.g. spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters)Hands-on experience with environmental test chambers (e.g. thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC)Security+ or another security certificationNetwork+ or another network certificationExperience authoring User Requirements Documents (URDs), System Requirements Documents (SRDs) and Requirements Verification Traceability Matrices (RVTMs) Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
