A Day In The Life
The SAP VMS Lead is a hands‑on role that will provide SAP Functional design leadership and direction as part of the newly formed SAP Center of Excellence (COE) within the Information Technology organization. This position will lead the functional/solution architecture and design of a newly implemented SAP S4/Hana system in the areas of VMS (Vehicle Management System) and OTC (Order to Cash) for our Distribution and vehicle processing business.
The person in this position will work with the business – Distribution, Vehicle Processing Center (VPC), Operational and IT teams, the AMS (Application Managed Services) team, and other SAP functional leads in the SAP COE to ensure that the functional design and configuration align with SAP best practices and documentation compliance, and support the Distribution and VPC operations requirements of the business.
They will proactively work with the AMS partner, business and technical teams to resolve and reduce identified defects and changes required. The SAP Functional Lead will be able to make changes to or guide the efforts to customize existing programs or add new programs to existing platforms, and will also help in the organizational change management around the use of SAP software.
As a SAP Tech Lead you will:
- Facilitate, gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into SAP application requirements for the business, including analysis of current needs, anticipation of future needs, and provision of solutions that integrate well with the various business operations that are part of the SAP ecosystem.
- Design and implement SAP solutions, with others on the SAP COE team, to address these business requirements, integrating solutions to resolve highly complex technical and business needs.
- Provide SAP support including analysis, development, testing, tracking, and problem resolution.
- Research production problems and/or enhancement issues and make appropriate changes to the system, initiating action and evaluating issues to develop alternative solutions. Apply expert knowledge and experience to resolve problems.
- Act as a key member of the SAP team responsible for the functional design of WRICEFs for the Distribution and VPC Operations functional area.
- Lead the team, demonstrating expertise in SAP VMS, sales and distribution.
- Support the development team to define and document solution design as part of a new initiative or enhancement.
- Maintain a good understanding of SAP VMS (Vehicle Management System), SAP SD (Sales & Distribution) and have experience working on SD, PTP and FI integration.
- Research new knowledge and collaborate on solutions for the SAP environment.
- Possess knowledge of SAP releases and patches, including applying OSS notes.
- Collaborate and provide excellent customer service to end users by working closely with the Architecture, Functional, Development, BASIS, and Security teams and AMS teams, to deliver high‑quality solutions on time.
- Undergo from business customers to influence decisions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 8+ years of experience in the field or in a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with SAP ERP implementation projects of moderate to high complexity and their post go‑live support, SAP S/4 HANA a plus.
- 8+ years of configuration expertise in the areas of SAP VMS, Sales & Distribution with at least one end‑to‑end SAP VMS (Vehicle Management System) implementation.
- 8+ years of experience preparing Process and Functional Design documents, with strong acumen to understand, translate, and map business processes in SAP.
- Order to Cash is the primary role and experience required; knowledge and experience in Procure to Pay, including Ariba, is preferred.

Physical and Environmental Requirements
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant portion of the work day while frequently accessing, inputting, and retrieving information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus and may need to move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
Travel Requirements
20% minimal travel is required for this position (up to 20% of the time). The associate will work from the Friedkin Corporate Campus four days a week and will be required to be at the Vehicle Processing Center one day a week where applicable.
