MDG Functional Lead - SAP S/4HANA Master Data Governance

• Contract-to-Hire Work Authorization: U.S. Citizens and Green Card Holders - must be willing to accept FTE conversion after 3-6 month contract
• Travel: Up to 50% (travel expenses covered) for qualified remote worker

Job Summary

iT2's direct client is seeking an experienced SAP MDG Lead to establish and support enterprise-wide master data governance capabilities.

• This role will be responsible for defining governance standards, workflows, data quality controls, stewardship processes, and operating models required to maintain trusted business data across the organization.
• The successful candidate will help build scalable governance processes for material, customer, vendor, finance, product, and engineering-related master data while partnering closely with business and technical stakeholders to improve data quality, operational efficiency, and long-term business scalability.

SAP MDG Solution Ownership

• MDG Lead will own SAP MDG functional design, governance workflows, validation rules, change processes, security roles, and integration points.
• Lead SAP MDG implementation and enhancement initiatives by coordinating business, functional, technical, and support teams.
• Partner with technical resources to support MDG configuration, reporting, workflow improvements, and future enhancements.
• Ensure governance solutions support business growth, operational complexity, and long-term scalability.
• Challenge manual processes or custom solutions that create unnecessary risk, reduce data quality, or increase support complexity.

Required Job Qualifications

• 7+ years of SAP Master Data, SAP MDG, Data Governance, or SAP functional data experience
• Strong understanding of SAP master data and its impact across end-to-end business processes
• Experience defining governance standards, workflows, ownership models, and data quality controls
• Ability to work across multiple business functions and translate data challenges into process and system solutions
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, stakeholder management, and governance skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP S/4HANA experience
• Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, finance, or product data domains
• Experience integrating SAP with PLM, engineering, analytics, or enterprise reporting platforms
• SAP MDG, Data Governance, or SAP S/4HANA Certification
