SAP Funds Management Functional Consultant

Preferred Location: Washington DC and San Diego, CA

Key Responsibilities

• Support SAP Funds Management and federal financial management processes.
• Analyze current and future-state budget and financial processes.
• Gather requirements from finance, budget, and government stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into SAP functional designs and specifications .
• Support:
• Budget distribution and execution
• Funds availability and budget control
• Commitments and obligations
• Budget transfers and adjustments
• Funds reservations
• Year-end close
• Financial reporting and reconciliation
• Work with SAP FI, CO, MM, Procurement, PS, and Maintenance modules.
• Perform fit-gap analysis and support SAP configuration.
• Develop process documentation, functional specifications, test scripts, and training materials.
• Support data conversion, validation, reconciliation, and master data activities.
• Lead/support UAT, SIT, regression, and unit testing .
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support deployment, cutover, release management, and production stabilization.

Must-Have Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP Funds Management / Public Sector Management experience.
• Experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA .
• Strong experience with:
• Funds control
• Availability checks
• Commitments and obligations
• Expenditures
• Financial reporting and reconciliation
• Experience with SAP integration across FI, CO, MM, Procurement, PS, or Maintenance .
• Experience with requirements gathering, functional specifications, testing, and production support.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance — Mandatory.

Preferred

• Federal or DoD financial management experience.
• SAP S/4HANA Public Sector Management.
• Experience with B2A, P2R, P2P, or Plan to Pay .
• FIAR / audit-readiness experience.
• SAP Fiori and S/4HANA migration experience.
• SAP FI/FM/PSM certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, Business, or related field.
