SAP Functional Consultant

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Functional Consultant to configure and test SAP modules according to business requirements. The role will be approximately 75% functional and 25% technical, requiring strong SAP Finance knowledge along with the ability to work effectively with developers, systems analysts, and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and test SAP software modules to meet business requirements.
• Work primarily on SAP Finance modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Project Systems (PS).
• Analyze business processes and data to identify gaps, improvement opportunities, and functional requirements.
• Review functional specifications and translate high-level requirements into detailed functional solutions.
• Develop and enhance Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) and Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) based on high-level requirements provided by Systems Analysts.
• Translate high-level business concepts and requirements into detailed functional designs.
• Configure SAP modules and work closely with developers during development and implementation.
• Perform functional testing and support testing activities to validate SAP solutions.
• Collaborate with technical teams to support approximately 25% technical activities within the role.
• Analyze data and identify areas requiring process or system improvements.
• Communicate findings, recommendations, and requirements clearly to business and technical stakeholders.
• Support solution implementation and ensure configurations align with business needs.
• Participate in issue resolution, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience as an SAP Functional Consultant.
• Strong functional experience with SAP FICO and core Finance processes.
• Hands-on experience with GL, AR, AP, and PS modules.
• Strong experience with SAP configuration and functional testing.
• Experience reviewing and working from functional specifications.
• Experience creating and developing FSDs and BRDs from high-level requirements.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ability to work effectively with developers and technical teams.
• Ability to perform both functional and technical activities, with approximately 75% functional and 25% technical responsibilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Systems Analysts, developers, business stakeholders, and other project teams.
