Sanitation TechnicianThe Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the egg processing equipment on a daily basis following the processing shift. The schedule will be working for three days one week and four days the following week-continuing with this rotation. The Sanitation Technician will report to the Processing Supervisor.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for dissembling, cleaning, sanitizing and reassembling the processing equipment on a daily basisRequires working with chemicals, high pressure cleaning equipment, manual scrubbing, use of a hose and simple mechanical toolsMaintain training on the correct use of equipment, chemicals and their MSDS'sReview the sanitation chemicals with the supervisor including use, mixing, appropriateness, etc.Responsible for record keeping/paperworkMust follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)Maintain equipment and keep in good repairOther duties as assignedQualifications:Previous food plant sanitation experience is highly desirableTraining for egg specific equipment would be providedFamiliarity with GMP's or equivalent practices is highly desirableAbility to work independentlyAbility and willingness to learn several associated jobsSpeak English and Spanish is highly desirableStrong written and verbal communication skillsBasic math skillsKnowledge of sanitation methods, chemical handling and useKnowledge of process control systems and food safety principlesPhysical Demands:Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyWork Environment: Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and water, and chemicals.
Temperature is regulated for operations standards. Cooler temperatures occur in specific areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions. Employees are required to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) due to working in a food manufacturing environment (hairnets, clean clothes, etc.)
