The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our production facilities, equipment, and grounds. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for food production in compliance with health regulations and company standards.Principal ResponsibilitiesFacility Cleaning:Clean and sanitize production equipment, and surfaces, according to the company's sanitation procedures.Ensure that all cleaning and sanitation schedules are adhered to and documented accurately.Perform routine cleaning of floors, walls, and ceilings in production dry area and freezer.Dispose of waste and recycling materials properly.Equipment Maintenance:Disassemble and reassemble equipment for cleaning purposes as needed.Inspect and maintain sanitation tools and equipment, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.Regulatory Compliance:Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines as per OSHA, SQF, FDA, and company standards.Participate in sanitation inspections and audits, providing support to the quality assurance team.Inventory Management:Monitor and replenish sanitation supplies and chemicals.Ensure proper labeling and storage of cleaning chemicals.Health & Safety:Adhere to company policies regarding health and safety practices.Report any health and safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.Team Collaboration:Work closely with other team members to maintain a clean and safe working environment.Communicate effectively with supervisors and management regarding any sanitation issues or improvements.QualificationsEducation & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious experience in sanitation, janitorial, or food production environment preferred.Skills & Competencies:Knowledge of sanitation and cleaning procedures, preferably in a food production setting.Ability to operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Good communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Sit-down forklift experience is desirable.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.Ability to work in cold environments (refrigerated areas).Performs other duties as assigned.Other duties may change at any time with or without notice.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
