We are committed to helping the population we serve, and our communities, achieve optimum health and enjoy the best quality of life possible.The SANE Program Coordinator RN coordinates the BHN SANE program; provides staff training, education, and helps ensure compliance with evidence collection and storage, collaborates with law enforcement and other related agencies in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.Responsibilities:Provide oversight, maintenance, and support to the SANE programDevelop an orientation plan for new examinersManage an on-call schedule for examinersExplore grant funding opportunitiesEnsure BHN compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standardsHelp provide oversight to the collection, storage, and transport of exam kits according to state requirements for all ED sites within the networkCollaborate with educators and other leaders to help facilitate staff training and education pertaining to victims of violence, assault, sexual assault, and human traffickingKeeps patients and family informed regularly and prnAssesses and diagnoses patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patientsDevelops, discusses and communicates a realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient, in collaboration with family/significant other in order to address all identified needsDemonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions and procedures as necessary for the care of the patientEvaluates the identified problems, care provided, and patient's responses are reassessed in order to meet patient and family needs to assure overall quality of care deliveredMaintains up to date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the health care team, in order to assure quality careMaintains current knowledge/certification/licensure.

Pursues professional growth and developmentPerforms all responsibilities required by the emergency unit/critical care division as defined in the scope of service, to assure that the unique nature of the client is addressed. This includes, but is not limited to the age of the client servedUtilizes and follows national patient safety standards and develops practice standards that are evidence basedEducation:2 Year/Associate Degree in Nursing, required4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred*** All RN's hired and that do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor's prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years.
