Sandblaster - 3rd Shift

SandblasterThe Sandblaster, or Sandblast Operator, performs abrasive blasting and surface preparation on metal and other materials to remove rust, scale, paint, and contaminants prior to coating, welding, fabrication, or finishing operations.

The role requires safe operation of blasting equipment, quality inspection, and adherence to production schedules and safety standards.ResponsibilitiesOperate sandblasting and abrasive blasting equipment safely and efficientlyPrepare surfaces by removing rust, paint, mill scale, and other contaminantsInspect workpieces and verify surface preparation requirements are metSelect appropriate blasting media, equipment settings, and protective gearPerform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenanceFollow work instructions, quality standards, and production schedulesComply with all environmental, health, and safety requirementsAssist in the troubleshooting and repair of production equipmentPerform routine preventative maintenance on production equipmentMaintain a clean and organized work area using 6S principlesDocument work progress in CMMS and communicate work status to business partnersOther duties as assignedPersonal Attributes and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience in sandblasting, manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial painting preferredAbility to read and follow work instructions and safety proceduresAbility to use measuring and inspection toolsForklift or overhead crane experience is a plusAttention to detail and commitment to quality.Strong safety awareness.Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Reliable attendance and punctuality.Hourly Rate: $24.00/hr + $1/50/hr shift differentialHours: Sunday-Thursday 10:00pm - 6:30amWork EnvironmentWhile performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Wearing PPE including NIOSH approved Type 1 Class C respirator, protective suits, gloves, and hearing protection is required. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
