We are building a dedicated practice to help life sciences companies design, implement, and scale customer engagement on the Salesforce platform — including organizations consolidating or modernizing from legacy CRM environments.
The Solutions Architect is the senior technical authority on these engagements. You own how the solution is built: the data model, the integration architecture, the migration approach, and the platform extensions that make it work in a regulated industry. You will be hands-on in the org, not only on the whiteboard, and you will be the person clients turn to when the answer isn't in the documentation.
You partner with a Business Analyst on every engagement. The BA owns business requirements and the stakeholder relationship; you own the technical design and the build standards. The role boundary is set out in detail below.
This is a client-facing consulting role. You will lead technical design across concurrent accounts, set the standards the practice delivers against, and provide technical direction to the analysts and offshore delivery resources building against your designs.
What You'll Do
- Own the solution architecture. Define target-state architecture and produce the design artifacts the delivery team builds from — data models, integration architecture, security and sharing models, and environment strategy.
- Lead technical discovery. Conduct current-state architecture reviews, inventory source systems and integration points, and assess data readiness. The Business Analyst leads business requirements discovery; you lead the technical track and attend the requirements sessions that carry architectural implications.
- Run future-state design workshops. Facilitate the sessions that determine how the signed-off requirements will be built on the platform, and document the resulting architecture.
- Architect migrations. Own migration strategy and approach for moves from legacy CRM platforms — account, contact and affiliation hierarchies, territory and alignment data, historical activity, and CLM content conversion using Conexus's automated conversion tooling.
- Design for the field. Architect for offline and low-connectivity mobile use, high-volume call and activity data, and the reporting the commercial organization runs on.
- Build, don't just design. Personally handle the complex technical components — Apex, Lightning Web Components, integrations, platform extension — rather than delegating everything downstream.
- Make and defend technical decisions. Evaluate build vs. configure vs. AppExchange trade-offs, document the rationale, and present to client architecture review boards and executive sponsors.
- Design for a regulated environment. Build in audit trail and data integrity, safety-event routing, approved-content controls, privacy and consent handling, and the data inputs that feed transparency and aggregate spend reporting. Where a system falls into validated scope, understand what that changes.
- Set practice standards. Establish and maintain the reference architectures, design patterns, accelerators, and technical quality gates the ALSC4CE practice reuses across engagements.
- Support the pipeline. Partner with sales and the Operations Director on solution shaping, estimating, level-of-effort modeling, and technical content for proposals and client presentations.
- Provide technical direction. Review the work of Business Analysts and offshore delivery resources against your designs, mentor on platform depth, and raise the technical quality bar.
Required Qualifications
- Salesforce platform depth is the primary requirement. 7+ years working on the core Salesforce platform, with at least 3 years in a Solutions Architect or equivalent lead design capacity. This role is core platform — Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, Platform — and is not a Marketing Cloud role.
- Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end solution design on enterprise Salesforce implementations, including data modeling, sharing and visibility architecture, and integration design.
- Hands-on technical capability: Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, SOQL, REST/SOAP integration patterns, and Salesforce release and deployment tooling.
- Experience leading data migration and system consolidation efforts, including mapping, transformation, reconciliation, and cutover planning.
- Consulting or professional services background — comfortable being client-facing, running design workshops, working across concurrent accounts, and presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain a technical trade-off to a VP of Commercial Operations and to a developer in the same meeting.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, and able to travel to client sites as engagements require.
