The Data Scientist will lead ILIA's data strategy by transforming raw information from Salesforce and other sources into actionable insights that strengthen fundraising, marketing, and program outcomes. This role establishes foundational analytics, builds predictive models, and develops dashboards that guide decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop custom objects to collect, track, measure and report on program KPIs and organizational goals.
- Collect, clean, and analyze data from ILIA's SFDC and start with basic statistical metrics, medians, means, max, min and develop a vision for their growth along with program managers
- Develop predictive models to identify donor, parent, and student engagement patterns.
- Create dashboards and visual reports to inform leadership and marketing decisions.
- Apply machine learning and automation to improve fundraising and enrollment conversion rates.
- Segment audiences to personalize communications and optimize campaign performance.
- Collaborate with marketing, programs, and development teams to design data-driven strategies.
- Support the creation and tracking of B2B proposals and institutional partnership pipelines.
- Assist team with periodic reporting, dashboard development and information display.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (Master's preferred but not required).
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data cleaning, statistical analysis (means, medians, ranges), and exploratory data analysis.
- Proficiency with data tools such as SQL, Python or R, and data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Salesforce dashboards).
- Experience with machine learning techniques (classification, clustering, regression) and automation for improving conversions or engagement.
- Familiarity with Salesforce (SFDC) or the ability to quickly learn CRM data structures and reporting.
- Experience in audience segmentation and marketing analytics (bonus if related to fundraising or education).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate analysis into clear insights and actionable recommendations for non-technical teams.
- Collaboration experience working with marketing, development, and program teams.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple data projects simultaneously.
- At least 4 years' of experience in quantitative analytics or data modeling
- Deep understanding of predictive modeling, machine-learning, clustering and classification techniques, and algorithms
- Fluency in a programming language (Python, C,C , Java, SQL)
- Familiarity with Big Data frameworks and visualization tools (Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Tableau)
