Imaginate Your Space · Remote, United States · Full-time · $38,000–$42,000 base plus uncapped commission
About Imaginate Your SpaceImaginate Your Space is a Worcester, MA-based company that does K–12 space makeovers: cafeterias, serving lines, hallways, gyms, and more. We take a school's mascot, colors, and story and turn them into murals, wall graphics, signage, and dimensional pieces. We design it, build it in our own shop, and install it. Our work started with murals over 30 years ago and has grown into full-room makeovers.
About the roleWe're looking for a hungry salesperson who wants to go out and get it. You'll find new school districts, make the calls, get in front of the people who decide, and keep deals moving until they close. Nobody hands you a book of business here. You build it, and since commission has no cap, the more you sell, the more you make. This role reports to our Customer Success and Sales Support Manager.
You don't need to know anything about K–12 schools. If you know how to sell, we'll teach you the rest. Experience selling to government or public agencies is a plus.
TerritoryRemote, United States. Your territory is set at hire based on where you live. You must live within 60 miles of a major airport. This role is not open to candidates living in California, Washington, Colorado, New York, Alaska, or Maine.
What you'll do- Cold call school districts every day. This is a big part of the job.
- Find your own leads by phone, email, LinkedIn, and in person
- Follow up on leads from trade shows and our website
- Set up and run first meetings on Teams with our team
- Visit schools, walk the spaces with district staff, and take photos, measurements, and Matterport scans for our design team
- Work our booth at state and national School Nutrition Association shows and other education conferences
- Watch for bids and RFPs in your territory and pass them to our team
- Log every call, email, and meeting in HubSpot the same day
- Report your pipeline and activity every week
This job travels a lot. Expect site visits in your territory, trade shows across the country, weekends during show season, and last-minute flights when a district wants to meet. You'll also make trips to our shop in Worcester, MA, during training.
Flights, hotels, and trade show costs are paid by the company. Mileage is reimbursed, and you get a per diem for meals on overnight trips.
A typical weekA few days on the phone, cold calling districts and following up on proposals. A day or two in the field, walking a cafeteria with a nutrition director or facilities director. During show season, a few days working our booth.
How school sales workSchools buy slowly. Most projects take months from first call to signed contract, often tied to budgets and board approvals, and most installs happen in the summer. You'll work a lot of deals at once, each at a different stage. Follow-up is what closes them.
Pay- Base salary: $38,000–$42,000 per year
- Uncapped commission on the revenue of every deal you bring in
- Your commission rate goes up as your yearly sales grow
- Bonuses for qualified appointments you book
- 1–2 years of sales experience, including cold calling
- Hungry and self-driven. You go find the business instead of waiting for it.
- Comfortable picking up the phone and hearing no
- Comfortable running a meeting with a superintendent or business manager
- Organized and consistent with follow-up
- Experience with a CRM (HubSpot is a plus)
- Willing to travel often, including weekends and on short notice
- Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
- Able to pass a CORI and background check. You'll be working inside schools.
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Experience selling to government, schools, or public agencies
- Experience working trade shows
- Experience selling to school food service, facilities, or construction
There's no cap on commission. As you build your territory and our sales team grows, there's room to grow with it.
