Sales Lead - Chico's

Position Objective

The Sales Lead is responsible for supporting Management in establishing a customer and product-focused sales culture, ensuring valued principles guide store operations, delivering great customer experiences, and maximizing profitability.

Functional Responsibilities

• Establish and communicate clear expectations, holding the store team and self accountable for achieving brand, performance, and behavior standards.
• Perform and oversee basic operational activities such as opening and closing duties, and merchandise flow processes.
• Supervise associates engaged in sales, inventory receipt, cash reconciliation, or customer service. Use weekly schedules for floor coverage within fiscal guidelines. Stay current on sales and promotions and present merchandise accordingly.
• Maintain standards in merchandise handling, presentation, loss prevention, and other duties as directed by Management.
• Develop a high-performance culture, motivating the sales team to meet assigned sales and productivity goals and personal sales goals.
• Train and coach the selling team on product knowledge online and in store.
• Assist with locate fulfillment and selling.
• Motivate and inspire the store team, promote a shared vision, and model core values.
• Promote an inclusive, collaborative approach to problem solving.
• Communicate with store teams and Store Management to lead positive change.
• Seek personal development opportunities and solicit feedback to build leadership skill set.
• Model, teach, and promote the Most Amazing Personal Service (MAPS) principles, providing a cohesive omni-channel experience.
• Use various selling techniques to communicate product knowledge and recommend merchandise or locate products based on customer needs.
• Build and maintain a solid customer following through clienteling and wardrobe management.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly.
• Ensure a fast and efficient register experience; stay current on payment, coupon, return, exchange, security, and applicable policies.
• Maintain consistent client communication using customer book, rewards program participation, and customer capture sign-up.
• Support, implement, and follow up for all training programs, seminars, etc.
• Assist in the development of store associates; interpret KPI reports and provide coaching; deliver feedback to Store Manager for performance appraisals.
• Drive associate and team engagement by recognizing and rewarding employees for outstanding performance.
• Ensure the Store Team adheres to all employment practices and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year retail or sales management experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to learn or adapt to technology provided by the company.
• Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate with customers.
• Regular attendance essential. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Constant walking/standing – 67-100% of an 8-hour shift.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. – 1-33% of an 8-hour shift.
• Frequent climbing – 34-66% of an 8-hour shift.
